Advertising Disclosure
Last updated July 20, 2026. This page explains how Oxford & Loom makes money and how that shapes what you see on this site. We're writing it in plain terms because we think readers are owed a straight answer, not a legal hedge.
Two kinds of content on this site
Oxford & Loom publishes two kinds of content. The first is independent editorial content: how-to guides and buying advice written by our editorial team based on their own research and judgment, without payment from any brand to shape the conclusions. The second is sponsored content, also called advertorial content, published in partnership with a paying brand.
Sponsored pages are always labeled "Sponsored" at the top, before any content, along with the name of the partner brand. You will never encounter sponsored content on this site without that label appearing first. If a page doesn't say "Sponsored" at the top, it's editorial.
Who operates this site
Oxford & Loom is operated by [LLC NAME]. We want to be direct about this: [LLC NAME] has a common ownership relationship with certain brands featured on this site, including the sock brand featured in our sponsored articles and partner pages. In plain terms, the site and that brand share an owner. This is not a hidden arrangement — it's the business model behind the sponsored content you see here, and this page exists to make it clear.
Because of this common ownership, we have a direct financial interest in sales generated through the sponsored articles and partner pages that feature that brand. That's a different relationship than a typical affiliate partnership, and we think it's worth stating without qualification: when you read a sponsored page about that sock brand, you are reading content published by a company that also owns the brand being promoted.
Affiliate commissions on editorial content
Separately, Oxford & Loom may earn affiliate commissions on some links within our independent editorial articles — for example, a link to a shoe or shirt brand mentioned in a buying guide. In these cases, there is no common ownership between Oxford & Loom and the brand; we simply earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. These commissions do not determine which products we recommend or how we describe them. Editorial recommendations reflect our team's own assessment, not the size of a potential commission. See our Editorial Guidelines for how we keep this separation in practice.
Why this matters to you
Knowing who owns what and who's paying for what helps you weigh what you read. Sponsored content is written to sell a specific product. Editorial content is written to help you make your own decision, even when a link on the page happens to earn us a commission. We label sponsored pages clearly so you never have to guess which one you're reading.
